New boutique firm Edesia Law announced its launch today. Set up to defend claims against financial and legal professionals, Edesia Law supports a variety of clients across the UK including regulated financial advisers, lawyers, insurance brokers, insurers and managing general agencies, and construction professionals.

Principal & Founder Damian McPhun brings over 25 years' litigation experience specialising in the defence of professional liability claims against financial services, legal and insurance professionals. This experience has informed Edesia's relationship-focused model.

McPhun said: "Too many law firms are restrictive in the way they do business and have become accustomed to benefitting from protracted processes that can be costly to the client. Edesia adopts an early-intervention strategy for effective resolution, complemented by an in-house claims handling team providing a "cradle to grave" service. The firm also supports construction professionals — engineers, architects, designers, contractors, M&E engineers and quantity surveyors — in the defence of professional negligence claims, and advises insurers on all aspects of policy response, including collateral warranties and third-party cover.
